It's almost here, Reds Country! The 2024 Major League Baseball season is just around the corner and the Cincinnati Reds' fanbase has high expectations for this year's team. After watching Elly De La Cruz, Andrew Abbott, Matt McLain, and others burst onto the scene a year ago, Reds fans presume this year's team will be in the hunt for the NL Central crown and a trip to the 2024 MLB Postseason.

The Reds have yet to descend upon Goodyear, Arizona to begin spring training, but the team's schedule for Opening Day and the entire 2024 season, with start times, has been released.

Reds Schedule: When is Reds Opening Day?

The Findlay Market Parade will kickstart the Cincinnati Reds' 2024 season with longtime WLW radio broadcaster Jim Scott as this year's grand marshal. The parade, which saw an estimated 130,000 people attend in 2023, will begin at noon and the first pitch will be later that afternoon.

The Reds Opening Day game against the Washington Nationals is set to begin on Thursday, March 28th from Great American Ball Park. The Reds last played the Nats on Opening Day six years ago when Washington made the trip to Cincinnati in 2018.

What time is the Reds Home Opener?

First pitch of the Reds' Opening Day game against the Nationals is set for 4:10 p.m. ET. Friday is an off-day for Cincinnati, but the Reds will then close out their opening series against the Nationals with another 4:10 p.m. ET contest on Saturday, March 30th followed by Sunday's series finale that begins at 1:10 p.m. ET.

Rather than staying in the Queen City for the following series, the Reds head to the Philadelphia for a three-game set against the Phillies. The Reds then return home on April 5th for the first City Connect Friday of the 2024 season. The all-black City Connect jerseys will be on full display for Friday night's series opener against the New York Mets which begins at 6:40 p.m. ET.

As for the remaining home schedule, the overwhelming majority of weekday games, through the month of May, begin at 6:40 p.m. ET. For the months of June and July, start times are pushed back to 7:10 p.m. ET for most weekday affairs.

There are also a handful of Business Day Specials that typically take place on Wednesdays or Thursdays and begin at 1:10 p.m. ET. The start times for weekday games return to 6:40 p.m. ET beginning in August and run through the end the season.

As for the weekend, most Saturday home games have a 4:10 p.m. ET start time, while Sunday games are most often played at 1:40 p.m. ET. GABP will be a popular place this summer. Let's go Reds!
