Major League Baseball revealed the 15 Opening Day matchups for the 2024 season. After opening 2023 against the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Cincinnati Reds will go outside the National League Central to begin next season.

The Reds will open their 2024 season against the Washington Nationals on March 28th at Great American Ball Park.

This will be the first time since 2018 that the Reds and Nats will meet on Opening Day.

Cincinnati Reds 2024 Opening Day opponent revealed.

The Cincinnati Reds aren't the only NL Central team who'll be opening up the 2024 season against a non-division opponent. In fact, every NL Central team will begin the season by playing a team outside the division.

Not only that, but every team except the Reds will open the 2024 season on the road. The St. Louis Cardinals open the season at Chavez Ravine against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Pittsburgh Pirates head to South Beach to battle the Miami Marlins, while the Texas Ranges play host to the Chicago Cubs, and the Milwaukee Brewers head to the Big Apple for a date with the New York Mets.

But it won't take long for the Reds to face a division opponent. After a trip to Philadelphia to face the Phillies, Cincinnati will return to the Queen City for a three-game set with the Mets and then host a four-game series against the Brew Crew.

The Cincinnati Reds will play the Seattle Mariners on the road for Jackie Robinson Day and will be on the road once again for Lou Gehrig Day with a trip to play the Cubs in Chicago.

The Reds face a tough task during the final month of the season with 14 of their final 20 games on the road. Cincinnati wraps up the 2024 season against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.
