Update (6/14/26 at 4:51 p.m. ET): The Reds-Diamondbacks game will resume at 5:10 p.m. ET.
The Cincinnati Reds and Arizona Diamondbacks will have to wait a little longer to wrap up their series finale on Sunday afternoon. Some strong storms entered the area and the two teams are now in a weather delay but still have one inning left to play with the D-backs on top 4-3.
A brief check of the radar reveals that the storms are expected to clear the area sometime after 5:00 p.m. ET, so the two teams should be able to finish the game just in time for fans at the ballpark to get home in time for Sunday supper.
The Reds and D-backs were in the middle of a rubber match on Sunday when the storms arrived just before the end of the eighth inning. Arizona took Game 1 of the series on Friday night with a 5-2, but Cincinnati got back in the win column on Saturday with a 2-1 victory.
Reds-Diamondbacks in rain delay with the series on the line
The Reds got off to a hot-start on Sunday thanks to a solo home run off the bat of JJ Bleday in the bottom of the first inning. The D-backs knotted the score at 1-1 in the third, but an Eugenio Suárez RBI double put Cincinnati back on top 2-1.

Unfortunately, Arizona jumped back on top after Tejay Antone allowed a two-run homer in the sixth inning — in part because of a Nathaniel Lowe error at first base. But a half-inning later, Noelvi Marte hammered his third home run in three games to tie the game at 3-3.
Another D-backs homer, this time off the bat off of Gabriel Moreno put Arizona on top 4-3. The Reds put two runners on base in the bottom of the eighth inning, but couldn't scratch across a run.
When the game restarts, the Reds will likely turn to right-handed pitcher Chris Paddack. Both he and Tony Santillan were warming up in the bullpen before the end of the eighth inning, but with the Reds trailing, Terry Francona will likely hand the ball over to Paddack.
Due up in the top of the ninth inning for the Diamondbacks are LuJames Groover, Tommy Troy, and Ketel Marte. The Reds have Matt McLain, Jose Trevino, and rookie infielder Edwin Arroyo due up in the bottom-half of the inning. If Francona goes to his bench, Will Benson, Tyler Stephenson, and Dane Myers are all available.
