Reds spring training report date, location & other important dates to know

It's that time of year again, Reds fans. With Super Bowl Sunday set to wrap up the 2024-25 NFL season, baseball is officially back. Major league ball clubs will be setting up shop all over Florida and Arizona in the coming weeks with spring training set to commence later this month.

If you're a Cincinnati Reds fan, there's a lot to be excited about. New manager Terry Francona has energized the players in the clubhouse and the fans in Cincinnati. And speaking of electricity, is there a more electric player in baseball than Elly De La Cruz? The third-year shortstop, fresh off his appearance on the cover of MLB The Show 25, will be the centerpiece of a Reds' team looking to make some noise this season.

Reds spring training report date, location & other important dates to know

When do Reds pitchers and catchers report?

Pitchers and catchers officially report to Reds spring training on Monday, February 10th, with the first on-field workout scheduled for Wednesday, February 12th. Newly acquired players Brady Singer and Jose Trevino will be in attendance, as will Tyler Stephenson and likely Opening Day starter Hunter Greene. The Reds have a very deep pitching staff this season; so much so that starter Graham Ashcraft may well be ticketed for the bullpen.

While most, if not all the position players will be in Goodyear ahead of the the first full squad workout, every member of the Reds will be on the field Monday, February 17th. Reds fans will looking for another All-Star season from De La Cruz, but the Cincinnati faithful are also hoping to see several players like Will Benson, Noelvi Marte, and Jake Fraley put the 2024 season in the rearview mirror and bounce back in 2025.

Where is Goodyear Ballpark?

It's a bit odd for a Midwest team to head out to the desert for spring training, but the Reds have called Goodyear Ballpark their springtime home for quite some time. The Reds share a spring training facility in Goodyear, Arizona with Francona's former team, the Cleveland Guardians.

Other important dates to know

The Reds and Guardians always begin Cactus League play with a game against one another, and this season will be no different. Cincinnati's first spring game will be a split-squad contest against Cleveland on Saturday, February 22nd.

In addition to pitchers and catchers reporting, full squad practice, and the Cactus League opener against the Guardians, the Reds will play a scrimmage against the Dayton Dragons at Day Air Ballpark prior to the start of the 2025 season. The Reds and Dragons will take the field on Tuesday, March 25th in front of what's sure to be a sellout crowd in Dayton.
