MLB's Spring Breakout is back and will give fans a glimpse into the future. Last year's inaugural event was wildly successful and allowed Major League Baseball to showcase some of the sport's best young talent.
This year, the Cincinnati Reds will send a number of their best prospects to American Family Fields of Phoenix on Sunday, March 16th to battle the Milwaukee Brewers' top young talent.
Rhett Lowder starred for the Reds during last year's Spring Breakout game. The right-hander went two innings and racked up two strikeouts. Lowder eventually went on to quickly climb the ladder of the Reds' farm system and made his major league debut in late-August.
Chase Burns and Chase Petty highlight Reds Spring Breakout roster
Two more pitchers who could be on their way to the big leagues in short order will be part of the Reds Spring Breakout roster. Both Chase Burns and Chase Petty will be part of the action when the top Reds and Brewers prospects face off in just over a week in Phoenix.

Burns made his professional debut on Wednesday night in the Reds' Cactus League game against the Texas Rangers and struck out the side. Petty has been one of the top performers this spring and his making his case to receive a quick call-up later this season.
Several other top prospects will be on the field for the Reds Spring Breakout game against the Brewers. Joining Burns and Petty on the pitching side are Adam Serwinowski, Connor Phillips, Luis Mey, and Zach Maxwell. That trio of Burns, Petty, and Serwinowski (a name many Reds fans don't know) could be the future of the Cincinnati starting rotation. Both Mey and Maxwell could figure in to prominent roles in the Reds bullpen down the road, a spot where Phillips is likely headed as well.
