The Cincinnati Reds were supposed to have Major League Baseball produce their games for the upcoming season, but that all changed on Monday with the announcement of a return to what was formerly Bally Sports.

Main Street Sports, which is the new name for the Diamond Sports Group, will broadcast Reds games on FanDuel Sports in 2025. The same network currently carries all the games for both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Columbus Blue Jackets.

Reds News: New TV deal offers Cincy more money to spend

With this new TV deal comes a little more cash. According to Reds Chief Financial Officer Doug Healy the deal will give Cincinnati's front office some extra money to spend this offseason. The Reds' CFO said, “The deal with FanDuel does enhance our economics slightly. Ownership does remain committed to re-investing every available dollar back into the franchise."

This will be welcome news to the throng of Reds fans who are eagerly hoping to see Cincinnati add a right-handed bat and some bullpen reinforcements before spring training begins next month.

Reds News: Bubba Thompson signs up to play college football

It's not odd to hear of football players who set aside their NFL dreams to become baseball players. But it's not often that a baseball player returns to the gridiron—especially at age 26. Former Reds' outfielder Bubba Thompson will attempt to do just that.

Thompson, who suited up for the Reds in 2024, will be heading to South Alabama to play for Jaguars' head coach Major Applewhite. Thompson will reportedly walk on as a quarterback, and is slated to join the team for spring practice in the coming months. Thompson was a high school quarterback almost 10 years ago in Mobile, Alabama.

The heartbreaking wild fires in Southern California have prompted generosity from all over the United States. Reds' star pitcher Hunter Greene added to the efforts with a message posted to his social media account earlier this week.

Greene is providing free baseball cleats to travel ball, high school, and college player who've been affected by the California wild fires. This gesture on the part of the Reds' ace is just the latest in a long line of good deeds Greene has performed since joining the organization.
