All eyes throughout Reds Country are focused on the MLB trade deadline, and understandably so. There's just 10 days remaining for teams to bolster to their respective rosters through trades, and the Cincinnati Reds have some undeniable holes that must be filled in the coming days.

But Cincinnati was also hoping for some positive news on the injury front. Hunter Greene has been sidelined for several weeks while dealing with a groin injury, but there are signs that the flame-throwing righty will be back on the mound sometime soon.

The news for fellow right-hander Carson Spiers, however, is not as a promising, Spiers was returned from a rehab assignment after experiencing biceps soreness following his most recent start for the Louisville Bats. This latest injury update could impact the Reds' plans for the MLB trade deadline.

Reds News: Carson Spiers suffers setback, but Wade Miley still has hope

There's hope, of course, that removing Spiers from his rehab assignment is merely the Reds being overly cautious, but there's also the chance that this latest hiccup in his rehab could keep the 27-year-old hurler on the IL for the remainder of the season. It's kind of a wait-and-see approach that the moment.

Fellow starter Wade Miley is still somewhat optimistic about a return this season. The lefty has been sidelined with a left flexor strain, but is currently on the road trip with the team and has been seen throwing during pregame warmups.

FanDuel Sports Network reporter Jim Day revealed that Miley refused PRP injections, and continues to weigh his options as the season moves along. Miley's return is still viewed as a long shot, and he'd likely be used as a reliever rather than a starter if he did return to the Reds roster.

Reds News: Former outfielder Stuart Fairchild DFA'd by Braves

Former Cincinnati Reds outfielder Stuart Fairchild was recently designated for assignment by the Atlanta Braves. While many expected Fairchild to make the 2025 Reds Opening Day roster, he was cut loose during spring training and traded to Atlanta.

In 28 games with the Braves this season, Fairchild was hitting just .216/.273/.333 with four doubles, and triple, and two RBI. Fairchild will likely become a free agent, and it wouldn't be shocking to see Cincinnati take a flier on their former draft pick heading into the second-half of the season. While it's doubtful that the Reds would waste a 40-man roster spot, they could sign Fairchild to a minor-league contract and stash him away at Triple-A.
