Reds Country will be converging on Bristol Motor Speedway next season. According to reports from The Athletic (subscription required), the Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves will play a regular season game at the historic race track in 2025. According to reports MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred will make the formal announcement later this week.

The Tennessee-based track is a half-mile long and has played host to a few non-NASCAR events over the years. But this will be the first time that Major League Baseball will set foot in the Volunteer State and play a game at one of the most famous race tracks in the world.

Reds-Braves to play at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2025

The Reds played in the Field of Dreams Game in 2022. Reds fans will fondly remember the likes of Jonathan India and Joey Votto peeking out of the corn before Cincinnati took the field against the Chicago Cubs. Undoubtedly, this game may have a different feel altogether.

The fastest man in baseball — Elly De La Cruz — may come face-to-face with some of the fastest race car drivers in America. The east-Tennessee race track rather accessible to both the Reds and Braves fanbases, so the numbers for the event could be through the roof.

The University of Tennessee and Virginia Tech got together on the gridiron for the Battle at Bristol in 2016 and set the record for the largest crowd (156,990) to ever attend a college football game. The same could be in store for the Reds and Braves next season.

There will be more information released in the coming days, and there's sure to be plenty of hype surrouding the game as two of the most exciting players in the game — De La Cruz and Ronald Acuña Jr. — could be on the field at the same time. This has the makings of a fantastic event.
