As is so often the case, Major League Baseball picked a wildly random day to drop the Cincinnati Reds schedule for next season. There's oftentimes no rhyme or reason to why Rob Manfred does what he does, but nevertheless, the Reds 2025 schedule is now available.

While there's still a number of questions left with the second-half of the 2024 season still on the horizon, Reds fans now know who their favorite team will be playing on Opening Day next season.

2025 Reds Schedule: Cincy battles the SF Giants on Opening Day

For the first time since 1999, the San Francisco Giants will be the Reds Opening Day opponent. The Reds dropped the opener that season 11-8 and were actually swept by San Fran that weekend. Cincinnati rebounded to go 96-67, with the final loss of the season (which kept the Reds out of the playoffs) courtesy of Al Leiter and the New York Mets.

Hopefully next season will have a better ending. The Reds should bring back a talented roster filled with All-Stars like Elly De La Cruz and Hunter Greene, along with Nick Lodolo, Jeimer Candelario, Matt McLain, and Alexis Dìaz.

2025 Reds Schedule: Cincy avoids West Coast trip until after All-Star break

Now one bit of solace that fans can take away from the Reds 2025 schedule is the absence of an early-season West Coast road trips. The Reds' Achilles heel over the past several seasons has been an early-season trek to places like Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, and Seattle.

But the Reds' West Coast trip will be delayed until after the All-Star break. In fact, it'll be postponed until after the 2025 MLB trade deadline. Cincinnati does not make a trip out west until mid-August when they play nine games in 10 days against the Los Angeles Angels, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Reds do have a road trip in April to the Bay Area and a separate stop in Denver for three games, but there is no prolonged trip on the West Coast until the dog days of summer arrive. Hopefully, that will help the Reds get off to hot start in 2025. The Reds also have a few divisional opponents on the schedule during the month of April, something that was virtually absent in 2024.
