The Cincinnati Reds have done very little in free agency outside of agreeing to terms with pitcher Nick Martinez. The right-hander was the Reds' first (and only) free agent signing this offseason after Martinez agreed to sign the $21.05 million qualifying offer shortly after the 2024 season ended.
But there are several former Reds who are still available on the free agent market. Some played for Cincinnati just last season (Buck Farmer), while others haven't worn a Reds uniform in several years (Adam Duvall).
Believe it or not, there are 26 former Reds players who are currently available in free agency, and that doesn't even include former prospects like Yasmani Grandal and Justin Turner — neither of whom put on a Reds uniform during their tenure with the organization.

Former Reds position players who are still without a job heading into the 2025 season
- Donovan Solano
- Brandon Drury
- Jose Iglesias
- Jesse Winker
- Luke Maile
Don't be shocked if one or more of these players find their way onto the Reds' radar as the offseason goes on. Infielders like Donovan Solano and Jose Iglesias would provide a veteran presence and could be nice fits on this year's Reds team. Jesse Winker is another name to watch if he doesn't sign with the New York Mets.
- Amed Rosario
- Travis Jankowski
- Adam Duvall
- Tommy Pham
- Ty France
- Nick Martini
- Harrison Bader
- Curt Casali
The Reds dumped Amed Rosario, Nick Martini and Ty France shortly after the 2024 season. It could be tempting to reunite with Harrison Bader's glove this offseason, but he said to seeking a rather lofty contract. Curt Casali is still looking for work after two separate stint with the ole Redlegs, and so is Tommy Pham.

- Michael Lorenzen
- Anthony DeSclafani
- Wade Miley
- Chase Anderson
- Alex Wood
Some familiar names dot the page as our attention shifts from the position players to the pitchers. Former starter turned reliever turned starter once again, Michael Lorenzen, is marketing himself as a two-way player this offseason.
Anthony DeSclafani, as he did during his Reds' tenure, has struggled to stay healthy. The same can be said for Wade Miley, who is looking to return to the Milwaukee Brewers in 2025. Chase Anderson had a brief stint with the Reds, but still appeared in more games than former left-handed starter Alex Wood.

- Hunter Strickland
- Lucas Sims
- Ian Gibaut
- Jeff Hoffman
The Reds waved goodbye to Hunter Strickland in 2023, but the veteran had a fine season out on the West Coast with the Los Angeles Angels in 2024. Lucas Sims was traded at last year's deadline, and Ian Gibaut was non-tendered earlier this offseason. Free agent reliever Jeff Hoffman is considering a return to the starting rotation in 2025.
- Buck Farmer
- Brooks Raley
- Dylan Floro
- Jakob Junis
Don't be surprised if Buck Farmer returns to the Reds next season, and the fanbase would surely love to see Jakob Junis back in 2025 as well. Dylan Floro has been all over the league since leaving Cincinnati in 2018, and Brooks Raley only appeared in eight games for the Mets last season.
