Cincinnati Reds pitchers and catchers reported to Goodyear earlier this week, and position players have been trickling in slowly. All players are expected to be in camp by Saturday, February 15th with the first full-squad workout scheduled for Monday, February 17th.

It's a new-look Reds team this year. After firing David Bell, Cincinnati made a major upgrade in the managerial department. Future Hall of Famer Terry Francona came out of retirement and will be leading the charge for this young group of Reds players who are looking to make some noise in the NL Central this season.

There are a handful of new players as well. The Reds swung a bunch of trades this offseason. Gavin Lux, Jose Trevino, and Taylor Rogers joined the Cincinnati roster this winter, and the Reds also signed free agent outfielder Austin Hays.

Reds spring training: Graham Ashcraft & others have new jersey numbers

With spring training comes new faces, but some new threads as well. Graham Ashcraft traded in his No. 51 jersey in exchange for No. 23. His old number will be given to new Reds pitcher Brady Singer who's worn No. 51 since his college days.

Rhett Lowder has a new number this season as well. The rookie is ditching his No. 81 for Bell's No. 25. Rogers has been handed No. 55, which previously belonged to Brandon Williamson. With Williamson sidelined due to elbow surgery, the young lefty won't be suiting up this season anyway.

Lux was given No. 2 while Hays received No. 12. Trevino will don No. 35 this season while hanging the signs for the Reds pitching staff, and newly-signed reliever Scott Barlow will wear Luis Castillo's old No. 58. Jonathan India's No. 6 has yet to be plucked off the rack.

Reds spring training: List of non-roster invites

President of baseball operations Nick Krall may not be adding players, but the Reds spring training roster already has an abundance of players looking to turn their minor-league pact into a major-league deal.

Whether it's grizzled veteran looking for one last chance to be part of an Opening Day roster, or a young gun attempting to catapult his career onto the big stage, the battle among the Reds non-roster invites will be one to watch this spring.

Reds fans will see some familiar names among the group of NRIs. Wade Miley, who's currently rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, received a non-roster invite to camp and will use the time this spring to continue his rehab with an eye on returning later this season. Ian Gibaut is also back in Goodyear along with Alex Young.

Reds spring training: Cam Collier, Sal Stewart & others prospects are in big league camp

Cam Collier, Sal Stewart, and Chase Burns are all part of big league camp...for now. It's customary, early-on, for organizations to invite several top prospects to spring training. It's rare that these young, budding stars are named to the Opening Day roster, but it's not out of the realm of possibilities.

Among the youngsters who are in Goodyear, right-handed pitcher Zach Maxwell probably has the best chance to break camp and be part of the Reds Opening Day roster.
