Most of the buzz surrounding the Cincinnati Reds at the moment is focused on the team's 40-man roster additions and potential trade with the Kansas City Royals. The Reds added Luis Mey and Tyler Callihan to the 40-man roster on Tuesday, and there are whispers that Jonathan India may be on the trade block once again.

The Hot Stove season is heating up, and fans will have something new to talk about in the coming days once the non-tender deadline passes. All organization have until Friday evening to decide whether or not to tender contracts to any and all pre-arb and arbitration eligible players on the roster. Buckle up, Reds fans, the offseason is just getting started.

Reds News: Former outfielder Jose Siri traded to NY Mets

The New York Mets are firmly involved in the Juan Soto sweepstakes, and many see them as the favorite to land everyone's top free agent target this offseason. But if Soto becomes a Met in 2025, he'll have a new partner in the outfield.

Former Reds prospect Jose Siri was traded from the Tampa Bay Rays to the Mets on Tuesday. Siri never made it to the big leagues while part of the Reds' organization, but has spent the past two-plus seasons in Tampa after beginning his major league career with the Houston Astros. Siri is known more for his glove than his bat, as evidenced by his 16 outs above average (OAA) last season.

Reds News: Nick Martinez accepts qualifying offer, still seeks multiyear deal

Nick Martinez officially signed his qualifying offer this week guaranteeing himself a $21.05 million pay day. Rather than test the open market with draft compensation attached, Martinez accepted the qualifying offer and will be back in Cincinnati next season.

But Martinez still has interest in signing a longterm deal with the Reds. Speaking with MLB.com, Martinez said, "We’re still able to talk [with the Reds] about a multi-year deal. To my understanding, that’s still on the table." If no longterm deal is reached, Martinez will enter free agency once again after the 2025 and can no longer be stuck with a qualifying offer.

Reds News: Noelvi Marte experiencing highs and lows in Dominican Winter League

The Arizona Fall League has come to a close, but the Dominican Winter League is in full swing. Noelvi Marte, who was suspended for the first half of the 2024 season, is getting in some extra reps with the Gigantes del Cibao.

Through his first eight games in the DOWL, Marte is hitting .222/.300/.333 with a home run, three walks, and four strikeouts. After struggling in 2024, Marte will have to fight tooth and nail to find a spot on the Reds 2025 Opening Day roster. Hopefully his time in the Dominican Republic will offer the 23-year-old some much needed playing time to get his swing (and defense) right.
