The Major League Baseball offseason awards are in full swing. With the World Series behind us, it's time for MLB to begin distributing top honors to the players, managers, and front office executives from the 2024 season.

The Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners were announced on Sunday night, and while the Reds didn't have any finalists for that prestigious hardware, two Cincinnati stars were named finalists for the Silver Slugger Awards.

Reds News: Elly De La Cruz & Jonathan India named finalists for Silver Slugger Award

Both Elly De La Cruz and Jonathan India were named finalists for this year's Silver Slugger Awards. Since 1980, this award recognizes the top offensive players at every position, including one utility player.

De La Cruz joins shortstops Willy Adames (Milwaukee Brewers) and Francisco Lindor (New York Mets), while India is alongside fellow second basemen Luis Garcia Jr. (Washington Nationals) and Ketel Marte (Arizona Diamondbacks). Winners will be announced Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

Reds News: Emilio Pagán exercised player option for 2025

Whether you like it or not, Reds fans, Emilio Pagán will be back in Cincinnati next season. The reliever endured an injury-plagued season, and never really lived up to the two-year, $16 million deal he signed last offseason.

Pagán had the ability to re-enter free agency this winter, but after posting a 4.50 ERA and making only 38 appearances out of the Reds bullpen, it was a wise move on his behalf to exercise his player option for 2025.

Reds News: Matt McLain back in CF during Arizona Fall League game

Reds fans have been keeping tabs on Matt McLain's progress during his stint in the Arizona Fall League, and over the weekend, the former first-round pick was back in center field for the Glendale Desert Dogs. This is now the second time McLain has moved from the infield dirt to the outfield grass during the AFL season.

The Reds are hoping to address their underperforming outfield this offseason, and one way to do so would be to move McLain to center field. The Reds have plenty of infield depth, and moving McLain to the outfield is certainly a possibility.
