Kelly has had another fine season for the D-Backs, but his numbers are smoke and mirrors with an xERA of 4.36. Kelly has allowed a ton of hard contact, more than one home run per nine innings and walking more than three batters per nine, and he can run into trouble against a Reds lineup that is league average in slugging percentage this month.
Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks may be in a poor matchup against Reds' left hander Brandon Williamson. While he has struggled with hard contact this season, allowing over a home run per nine innings, but Arizona is 21st in slugging percentage against lefties. I don't think Williamson's biggest issue will play a role on Thursday.
With Kelly's looming regression, I believe this is a great underdog bet to make on the visitors.
