Most Reds fans remember last summer's trade that sent Luis Castillo to the Seattle Mariners. In exchange, Cincinnati received several top prospects from the Mariners' farm system.

Reds Country has already seen two of those four prospects debut in 2023. Levi Stoudt had several spots start for the Cincinnati Reds this season and could be part of the bullpen moving forward. Noelvi Marte would appear to be in line to be Cincinnati's starting third baseman in 2024.

But while those two players, plus the highly-touted Edwin Arroyo, look to have a future in a Reds uniform, many fans forget that Nick Krall was able to sneak a fourth prospect into that deal as well.

This Reds trade acquisition could shine in the Arizona Fall League.

Andrew Moore began the 2023 on the injured list and didn't wind up on the active roster with the Dayton Dragons until August. Moore was the fourth player the Cincinnati Reds received in return for Luis Castillo last summer.

Moore returned and pitched in 14.2 innings over 10 games for High-A Dayton this season. The right-hander struck out 20 of the 64 batters he faced. That 31.3-percent strikeout-rate is very good, but the 15.6-percent walk-rate is very concerning.

However, at only 24 years old, Moore has plenty of time to develop. Along with four other hurlers, Moore will travel to the Arizona Fall League and be part of a Surprise Sanguaros.

Moore has always been a high-volume strike-thrower. For his minor league caeer, Moore owns a 32.3-percent strikeout-rate and 13.28 strikeouts per nine innings pitched. His erratic control will likely have the right-hander ticketed for a relief role if he makes it to The Show.

Spending some time at the AFL will certainly help Andrew Moore's development. After speinding most of the 2023 season on the IL, hopefully these extra reps will only help Moore once spring training starts next year.
