It's November, and that means roster moves are on the horizon. The non-tender deadline isn't until later this month, but front offices are no doubt gathering a list of players who may or may not be part of their offseason roster.

There are some obvious candidates on the Cincinnati Reds roster who are unlikely to be part of the team after the non-tender deadline (November 18th).

Players like Derek Law and Nick Senzel, both of whom are due a raise through arbitration heading into 2024, are two obvious candidates. But one less distinguishable option could be Levi Stoudt.

Levi Stoudt came to the Cincinnati Reds by way of the 2022 midseason trade with the Seattle Mariners. In addtion to headliners Noelvi Marte and Edwin Arroyo, the Reds also acquired Stoudt and reliever Andrew Moore in exchange for Luis Castillo.

Moore is one of several pitchers who left for the Arizona Fall League this year, while Marte made his big league debut near the tail-end of the 2023 season. Arroyo (outside of four games late last season) has yet to play above High-A, but is seen as one of the Top 100 prospects in the sport.

Stoudt, unfortunately, has struggled since the trade last season. Walks have been a major problem for the 25-year-old and Stoudt saw a huge increase in home runs surrendered last season. With those big flies (2.19 HR/9), Stoudt's ERA at Triple-A skyrocketed.

Levi Stoudt was added to the Cincinnati Reds 40-man roster last fall, but as pitchers James Marinan and Jared Solomon can atest to, you've got to perform in order to hang onto the coveted spot.

The Reds are likely to be in the market for both starting and relief pitchers this offseason and will certainly look to add several young prospects to the 40-man roster as well. Levi Stoudt is in a very precarious position this winter.
