It was recently reported by Mark Sheldon of MLB.com that two of the Cincinnati Reds top prospects will be making the leap from Double-A to Triple-A.

Connor Phillips and Noelvi Marte will reportedly join the Louisville Bats. These promotions are much deserved for two prospects that may find their way to the big leagues later this season.

But the Reds Double-A affiliate has a few other players who look quite deserving of a promotion to Triple-A as well. Former second-round pick Rece Hinds is riding a scortching hot streak over the past two weeks and may soon join Marte and Phillips in the Derby City.

There may not be a player in the entire Cincinnati Reds organization that is as red-hot as Rece Hinds. The outfield prospect has been playing out of his mind of late, tallying eight home runs during the month of June. Hinds homered in six consecutive games, including a two-homer game on June 13th.

Hinds has recorded a hit in 16 of the 20 games the 22-year-old has played this month. Of these 16 contests, six were multi-hit games including two games in which Hinds had four base knocks. Hinds is hitting .365/.437/.784 and has all but locked up Southern League Player of the Month honors for June.

Hinds made a change in his approach at the dish that has completely changed his outlook as a prospect within the Reds organization. Hinds has always had ridiculous raw power, but the increased bat to ball skills has made him incredibly valuable.

Rece Hinds' potential to be a difference maker in the middle of the lineup places him near the top Reds farm system. MLB Pipeline currently recognizes Hinds as the team's second-best outfield prospect behind only Jay Allen II. Look for Hinds to make the leap to Triple-A very soon.
