Which Reds are playing in the World Baseball Classic?
For the first time since 2017, the World Baseball Classic returns to take center stage. The 20-team tournament brings together the best of the best from around the globe.
Former MVPs Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout, and Paul Goldschmidt will part of the festivities with the WBC set to begin on March 8th. But are the Cincinnati Reds represented at all?

Which Reds are playing in the World Baseball Classic?
A dozen players from the Cincinnati Reds organization will participate in the World Baseball Classic. While it's likely that not every name will sound familiar, there are plenty of recognizable players from the Cincinnati organization, including the team's closer.
That's right, Alexis Diaz, will be part of Team Puerto Rico in the WBC. Diaz burst onto the scene last season and even received several votes for the NL Rookie of the Year. The younger brother of New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz will be attempting to put Puerto Rico over the hump after back-to-back second-place finishes.
Luis Cessa, who'll be vying for a spot in the Reds rotation this spring, will also be part of the World Baseball Classic. Representing his home country of Mexico, Cessa will joined by MLB standouts Randy Arozarena and Alejandro Kirk.
Pitcher Fernando Cruz and outfielder Henry Ramos will join Alexis Diaz on Team Puerto Rico. Cruz was a September call-up last season and Ramos was signed to a minor-league deal earlier this offseason.
Silvino Bracho (Venezuela), Vin Timpenelli (Italy), and Reiver Sanmartin (Columbia) will all participate in the WBC as well. Lesser known names like Donovan Benoit, Arij Fransen, Kyle Glogoski, Tayron Guererro, Evan Kravitz, and Nicolo Pinazzi will also represent the Cincinnati Reds in the World Baseball Classic.
