Michael Lorenzen was oftentimes heralded for his muscular physique during his time in a Cincinnati Reds uniform and even given the nickname Mikey Biceps.

But Reds rookie pitcher Lyon Richardson might have him beat. Cressey Sports Performance posted a video to X (formerly Twitter) for Richardson doing 495-pound dead lifts.

Richardson can be seen doing at least five reps in the 12-second video, proving that the right-hander never misses leg day.

Lyon Richardson was a second-round draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds back in 2018 as a high school pitcher out of Florida. Richardson was hailed for his 95-plus mph fastball and athletic ability.

Richardson suffered a setback following Tommy John surgery and misses all of the 2022 season. However, the Reds still had faith in Richardson and added him to the 40-man roster last winter in order to protect him from being selected by another club in the 2022 Rule 5 Draft.

Richardson made his major league debut for the Reds this past season. The 23-year-old debuted on August 6th and made a total of four starts for Cincinnati in 2023. Richardson recorded 12 punch outs in 16.2 innings of work and posted an ERA of 8.64.

Lyon Richardson is expected to be in the mix for the Reds starting rotation during spring training. He'll face stiff competition from other young hurlers like Andrew Abbott, Brandon Williamson, and Connor Phillips - all three of whom made their big league debuts in 2023 as well.

One things for sure after watching that video - Richardson takes his offseason conditioning very seriously. Fans will be excited to see what Richardson brings to the mound next spring in Goodyear, Arizona.
