Cincinnati Reds fans won't have to wait for the 2023 home opener as they did in 2022. This year, the Reds will be able to play in front of their home fans from the very first pitch. The 2022 Opening Day start on the road was just weird, right?

The Reds will get back on track with their long, rich tradition of starting the new season at home. So when is Cincinnati's first home game in 2023? Along with the entire league, the Reds will play their first game of the season on March 30th with the first pitched slated to take place at 4:10 PM ET.

Opening Day in Cincinnati is an event like no other. Being able to give the fans that experience again after no fans at all in 2020, limited capacity in 2021, and a year off in 2022, will make it all the more special.

The Reds' opponent for the opening series of 2023 will be the Pittsburgh Pirates. Cincinnati's overall record versus Pittsburgh on Opening Day is 10-19. However, the Redlegs have taken the last two matchups against the Buccos in both 2015 & 2019.

Including last season's opener on the road in Atlanta, the Reds have won five of the last eight Opening Day games. Playing against a struggling franchise like the Pirates, the Reds have the opportunity to build on that success at the end of the month.
