Call him up!

The Cincinnati Reds have won six of their last nine games and two of their past three series. Nick Lodolo put together a quality start during Sunday's finale in the Windy City and TJ Friedl's three-run homer helped put enough runs on the board to knock off the Chicago Cubs by a final of 5-2.

The Reds are headed to Denver for a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies before heading back home to battle the Cubs in a four-game set at Great American Ball Park. Will one of the Reds best starters from a year ago be back later this week? It's certainly a possibility.

Reds News: Brandon Williamson has another scoreless rehab start

Brandon Williamson completed his fourth rehab start over the weekend, going four innings and allowing just one hit while striking out two. This was the third time in four games that Williamson has not allowed a single opponent to dent the plate. During his time with Triple-A Louisville this season, Williamson owns an outstanding 0.66 ERA and 0.73 WHIP.

Williamson's rehab assignment will be up soon, and the Reds will have a decision to make. Cincinnati can either recall Williamson up to the big leagues or option him to the minors. While he's pitched very well, it would seem unlikely that Williamson will supplant any of the Reds' current starters.

Reds News: Justin Wilson returns from IL, Alex Young optioned

Though he didn't make an appearance during Sunday's game, Justin Wilson was activated from the 15-day IL just before the series finale against the Cubs. Wilson had been on the IL with a left shoulder injury.

In order to make room on the 26-man roster, Alex Young was optioned back to Triple-A Louisville. Young had made three appearances since returning from the 60-day IL and pitched a total of two scoreless innings. Young will be on standby in the Derby City.

Reds News: Jonathan India's on-base streak reaches 7 games

Jonathan India has been on a hot-streak of late. While the power is still lacking from India — and the Reds as a whole — the former NL Rookie of the Year continues to get on base with regularity. India has reached base safely in his last seven games, while hitting .300/.464/.400. India went 0-for-2 with a walk and a sacrfice fly in Sunday's game versus the Cubs.

India was bumped down in the batting order recently, and while he's still not making great contact at the plate, the Reds second baseman is walking a tremendous rate. Since he was bumped down in the lineup, India has drawn 10 walks and struck out 11 times. India has been on base almost 40% of the time since David Bell made the lineup change.
