The Cincinnati Reds may not have made it to the 2023 MLB Playoffs, but the organization will be well represented by several former players.

Cincinnati's efforts to make the postseason fell just short this past season, but for baseball fans who want to have a rooting interesting during the NL Wild Card Series, there are some fan favorites from their time in the Queen City who'll be suiting up in the MLB Playoffs.

The Philadelphia Phillies will host the Miami Marlins on Tuesday in Game 1 of the NL Wild Card Series, and the Milwaukee Brewers will welcome the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Cream City. Which former Reds players might fans see on the diamond over the next few days?

Now playoff roster haven't been released just yet, but one can assume that those players who had an impact during the 2023 regular season and are healthy, will likely be part of the postseason festivities.

The Philadelphia Phillies feature three former Cincinnati Reds players on their roster with Nick Castellanos, Michael Lorenzen, and Jeff Hoffman all likely to take part in the Wild Card Series versus the Miami Marlins. You might be surprised to know that Hoffman leads those three in bWAR this season.

The Phillies face off against the Fish, and Miami has just one former Reds player on their active roster. However, there remains a chance that Johnny Cueto doesn't make the cut when Skip Schumaker (also a former Reds player) puts together his playoff roster. The 37-year-old has a 6.02 ERA this season.

The Milwaukee Brewers have two former Reds players on their roster, but only one is likely to be part of the postseason. Jesse Winker is on the IL at the moment, but Wade Miley could find his way onto the Brewers playoff roster. But with only three games in the series, Craig Counsell may be just fine with Freddy Peralta, Brandon Woodruff, and Corbin Burnes.

The Brewers will do battle against the upstart Arizona Diamondbacks. Had the Cincinnati Reds won the final two games of the 2023 season, they would be occupying this spot. As it is, former Reds outfielder will likely be on the D-backs playoff roster during the NL Wild Card Series.

The lone D-backs player who used to play for the Reds is outfielder Tommy Pham. The veteran was traded to the Boston Red Sox last summer and signed with the New York Mets during the offseason. Pham was traded to Arizona at the deadline this past summer.

So there you have it, Reds fans. If you're someone who like to cheer for the team with the most recognizable players from past Cincinnati teams, it looks like the Philadelphia Phillies are your pick for the 2023 NL Wild Card Series.
