It feels like a sure bet that the Tampa Bay Rays will be trading Tyler Glasnow at some point this offseason; perhaps as early as this week's MLB Winter Meetings.

But a new name has joined the trade chatter this past week. There is growing speculation that Randy Arozarena could be had in a trade this winter as well.

If that's true, the Cincinnati Reds could kill two birds with one stone and pull off a blockbuster trade with the Rays that included both Glasnow and Arozarena.

Reds could win the MLB Winter Meetings with this blockbuster trade

Almost every Reds fan has suggested since the offseason began that the team's two biggest priorities should be to add a starter and a right-handed hitting power-bat that can play the outfield. Check, and check!

If Cincinnati Reds President of Baseball Operations Nick Krall emerged from the MLB Winter Meetings in Nashville with both Tyler Glasnow and Randy Arozarena in tow, he might have his own statue outside of Great American Ball Park.

Glasnow appeared in 21 games last season and posted a 3.53 ERA with 162 punch outs in 120 innings of work. Arozarena hit .254/.364/.425 with 23 home runs and 82 RBI.

Glasnow is under contract through next season while Arozarena is entering Year 1 of his arbitration window. Per MLB Trade Rumors, the Tampa Bay Rays outfielder is expected to earn $9 million next season.

Now, it would take a haul to land both Tyler Glasnow and Randy Arozarena. But if any team is in position to win now and has the prospect capital to get a deal done, it's the Cincinnati Reds.

This would also be the ultimate smack back to the St. Louis Cardinals after the Reds missed out on Sonny Gray. Not only are the Cardinals rumored to be in on Glasnow, but Arozarena was, at one time, part of St. Louis' farm system.

Yes, this may be a bit far-fetched, and it's way outside the scope of how the Reds typically handle their business. But if Cincinnati were able to pull off this trade without sacrificing anyone from the major league roster, the Reds would be the favorites to win the NL Central in 2024.
