The Cincinnati Reds have less than two weeks to make some last-minutes additions for a playoff push. Cincinnati dispatched of the New York Mets over the weekend, winning 2-of-3 and are just 2½ games out of the NL Wild Card chase with the Washington Nationals up next.

The Reds need some reinforcements if they hope to make it back to the postseason, and the Arizona Diamondbacks may provide exactly what Cincinnati is looking for at the MLB trade deadline. While the D-backs have won four straight games and have yet to commit to being sellers, they're 4½ games out of the playoff hunt and have several expiring contracts on the books.

If the D-backs do indeed decide to sell, they represent one of the few clubs who could help solve the Reds' roster dilemma in more than one way. Cincinnati is lacking a big bat in the middle of the batting order and could also use some pitching depth; particularly in the bullpen. The D-backs could be a one-stop shop for the Reds at the MLB trade deadline.

Diamondbacks could solve the Reds' two biggest problems at the MLB trade deadline

Former Reds star Eugenio Suárez could be one the biggest prizes at this year's MLB trade deadline. The two-time All-Star leads the NL in home runs (35) and has 85 RBI on this season. The Reds recently began to give Noelvi Marte extra reps in the outfield, which could open up a spot for Suárez at the hot corner.

Suárez in the final year of the deal that he signed with the Reds in 2018. While he's having a terrific season, it's unlikely that Cincinnati would have to fork over one of their top prospects in order to secure Geno for the stretch run. Though may not have his blonde hair anymore, Suárez was beloved by the Reds fans during his tenure in Cincinnati and would be a welcome addition at the July 31 deadline.

But Suárez isn't the only player on the D-backs roster who could pique the Reds' interest at the deadline approaches. First baseman Josh Naylor, who's hitting .292 with an .814 OPS and 11 home runs this season, should also be on Cincinnati's shortlist. The Reds were loosely connected to Naylor this past offseason, and like Suárez, he's a free agent after the season.

Though either one of Merrill Kelly or Zac Gallen would bolster the Reds' starting rotation, it sounds as if neither pitcher is enamored with Great American Ball Park's pitching mound. Veteran reliever Shelby Miller, however, could be just what the doctor order to help improve the Reds' ailing bullpen. Miller was placed on the IL earlier this month with a forearm strain, but threw a bullpen session on Saturday and is expected to return before the trade deadline.

Arizona provides Cincinnati with the ability to upgrade the roster in one fell swoop. The question now is whether or not the D-backs decide to buy or sell at the MLB trade deadline.
