Complete list of Reds players on expiring contracts at the 2026 trade deadline

The Cincinnati Reds appear to be sellers with recent reports suggesting the front office will be focused shopping those players who are on expiring contracts ahead of the August 3 deadline.

A number of teams will undoubtedly be interested in other Reds players as well, with names like Spencer Steer and JJ Bleday already drawing widespread trade interest across the league. For the time being, however, Cincinnati is only looking to trade their rentals.

Eugenio Suárez, Reds third baseman

Eugenio Suárez has not had type of season many were expecting. Though he's been heating up of late, Suárez has seen a downturn in almost every meaningful offensive category. The two-time All-Star was supposed to be the missing piece for a Reds team in need of some pop this season, but instead, he could be moved ahead of the upcoming trade deadline.

Brady Singer, Reds starting pitcher

Brady Singer is arguably the Reds' biggest trade chip. Every contender is searching for starting pitchers at this time of the year, and with the Detroit Tigers' recent surge, the most sought-after player at this year's deadline (Tarik Skubal) is unlikely to be moved. That will push Singer's closer the top of the list, and Cincinnati could receive a nice haul for their most durable starter.

Tyler Stephenson, Reds catcher

Tyler Stephenson is second behind Singer in terms of trade value. Catching depth could be key for many teams as the deadline approaches, and Stephenson's bat has been on fire in recent weeks. At one time, it looked as though he and the Reds were destined to sign a long-term agreement, but that window has since passed.

Brock Burke, Reds relief pitcher

Any team in need of left-handed reliever will surely target one of the Reds' two southpaws at this year's trade deadline. Brock Burke has seen his walks spike this season, but he still owns a sparkling 2.89 ERA and has been a workhorse for manager Terry Francona in 2026.

Nathaniel Lowe, Reds designated hitter

After a hot start, Nathaniel Lowe lost his mojo. He's endured a power outage of late, but his moonshot during the Reds' series finale in Colorado over the weekend could be a catalyst to help reignite that effortless (yet power-packed) left-handed swing. Lowe's insanely affordable contract ($1.75 million) will make him a popular trade target for teams looking for some left-handed pop off the bench.

Caleb Ferguson, Reds relief pitcher

Much like Burke, Ferguson is sure to draw a crowd before the August 3 deadline passes. He was saddled with an oblique injury to begin the year, but he's been more than serviceable since returning from the IL. His 52.6% ground ball is sure to get the attention of opposing GMs looking for stable lefty addition at the deadline.

Pierce Johnson, Reds relief pitcher

Pierce Johnson signed a one-year, $6.5 million before the season that included a mutual option for 2027. With next season already in doubt due to the impending CBA negotiations, Cincinnati seems unlikely to pick up their end of that deal. Johnson has struggled a bit during his first season with the Reds, but if the price is right, the right-hander could still be moved in the next couple of weeks.
