Pitchmen Billy Mays Found Dead. Conspiracy Theory #1

AUTHOR: | IN: Reds | COMMENTS: None Yet

The FAA is already deflecting blame for the death of Billy Mays — claiming the legendary TV pitchman wasn’t wearing a seat belt when he took a shot to the head during a rough landing on a flight he was on yesterday. Here’s what we know — Billy Mays was aboard US Airways Flight 1241 flying from Philadelphia, which landed roughly when the front tire blew out as it touched down. After the flight, Billy told FOX 13 in Tampa that something struck him in the head — here’s Billy’s actual quote: “All of a sudden as we hit you [...]

Adam to Louisville

AUTHOR: | IN: Reds | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Adam Rosales was optioned back to Louisville to make room for Homer Bailey. He has been slumping badly and found his playing time diminished in the last 3 weeks. Since Votto is back, there is no spot for Adam. He will be back though. His attitude is contagious. And, he is a big fan favorite here in Cincy. Go Reds, Tim

Homer Gets 1st Win of the Season

AUTHOR: | IN: Reds | COMMENTS: None Yet

Homer Bailey pitched 5 innings and picked up the win against in-state rival, Cleveland Indians. Despite walking 7 batters, he still got the victory. The hard throwing right-hander has been one of the Reds’ top prospects since they drafted him in 2004, but he entered Saturday with a career mark of 4-8 and an ERA of 7.01. He went 0-6 with a 7.93 ERA last year in eight starts. Bailey’s first start this season was also against the Indians, when he didn’t get a decision, but allowed six runs in 4 1-3 innings in a 7-6 loss on May 23. [...]

Votto’s Injury

AUTHOR: | IN: Reds | COMMENTS: None Yet

Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto grew so “totally overwhelmed” with grief and anxiety about the death of his father that he needed time off from baseball to recover. The slugging first baseman made the revelation Tuesday, hours after he was activated off the disabled list and put in the starting lineup for a game against the Blue Jays in his hometown of Toronto. Votto went on the DL May 30 with stress-related issues after missing games earlier this season with an inner-ear problem. What fans, media and even teammates did not know was that Votto had been battling anxiety [...]

Edinson is Shut Down

AUTHOR: | IN: Reds | COMMENTS: None Yet

Edinson’s rehab has been stopped. Another MRI has discovered more inflammation of his elbow. He has been shut down from throwing. This is definitely bad news. His likely comeback will be after the All-Star break and no sooner. Go Reds, Tim

Bronson Arroyo was punished to the tune of seven runs, six of them earned. He only pitched 3 2/3 innings in an 8-2 loss to the Blue Jays on Wednesday night. Arroyo served up eight hits, including three home runs. He has now given up eighteen of them in just 92 innings this season. He walked three and struck out two in the loss, moving to 8-6 on the year. Toronto owns Arroyo. Go Reds, Tim

70′s Sexy Symbol Passes Away

AUTHOR: | IN: Reds | COMMENTS: None Yet

Farrah Fawcett died today. She has been sick with colon cancer. She was 62. I am 39 years old and worshipped the Charlie’s Angels. My best friends brother had that iconic poster in his room. I stared at that poster every day. She was such a hottie. It is a shame that she died so early in life. Tim
