Despite his short stay in the big leagues, Ronnie Dawson won't be gone long

The Cincinnati Reds sent Ronnie Dawson back to Triple-A Louisville after a short stay with the big league club in place of Tyler Naquin. But don't shed too many tears for Dawson, he won't be gone long.

Dawson was sent back to Triple-A after outfielder Tyler Naquin rejoined the club on Friday. Naquin had been on the Injured List without designation. Nick Senzel and Joey Votto are still on the IL without designation.

Dawson did not arrive to Milwaukee until the ninth inning of Wednesday's game against the Brewers. He and Albert Almora Jr. drove from Indiana to American Family Field following a game against the Indianapolis Indians.

Ronnie Dawson was in the Cincinnati Reds starting line up on Thursday afternoon's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. Dawson was tabbed as the designated hitter, was in the eighth in the batting order, and went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in Thursday's 10-5 loss.

Dawson is from Ohio and was incredibly excited to put on a Cincinnati Reds uniform prior to Thursday's game. His pregame interview with Bally Sports Ohio's Jim Day will bring a smile to your face.

In his interview, Dawson talks about idolizing former Reds greats Ken Griffey Jr. and Brandon Phillips. In fact, Dawson said that he models how he plays after Dat Dude BP. He certainly has Phillips' winning smile, that's for sure.

Dawson has been tearing it up while at Triple-A Louisville this season. The 26-year-old is hitting .281/.373/.458 with five doubles, four home runs, and 13 RBIs. Dawson also has four stolen bases with the Bats this season.

Ronnie Dawson and TJ Friedl will likely be the first names called up from Triple-A when there a hole to be filled in the Cincinnati Reds lineup. Friedl is on the 40-man roster, so he may get the call before Dawson, but depending on how the roster evolves over the season, it won't be surprising to see Dawson back in the bigs very soon.
