Joey Votto has taken to social media like a duck to water. The oftentimes mercurial Votto has shone a different side of himself since joining the world of Twitter, Instagram, and other social media platforms.

Votto has used social media to show his affinity for chess, make some dance videos with young fans, and even make bold predictions about this year's World Series.

But Votto's out-of-this-world prediction might be the only way his Cincinnati Reds win the 2023 World Series. The six-time All-Star's bizarre answer to MLB's social media account involves extra terrestrials.

MLB.com's social media account asked for everyone's boldest predictions for the NL Central in 2023. Joey Votto's lengthy answer predicts that that after a 12-2 start by the Cincinnati Reds, extra terrestials arrive on earth. Then, after a five-month hiatus that involves befriending the aliens, baseball resumes and the Reds sweep the postseason.

Votto's prediction may be the boldest ever. Not necessarily that aliens would invade earth, but that the Reds would open the 2023 season by going 12-2. Last year's team began the year 3-23.

All kidding aside, about the only way the Cincinnati Reds are going to contend for the World Series in 2023 is if aliens truly do live among us for the summer. Most outlets are picking the Reds to finish dead-last in the National League Central Division as the team is fully embracing a rebuild with an extremely young core.

Joey Votto has yet to participate in a Cactus League game this spring and he may even miss the beginning of the 2023 season after undergoing shoulder surgery last August. The Reds have some contingency plans in place in the event that Votto is no-go on March 30th against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
