They're here! On Saturday, the Cincinnati Reds unveiled their City Connect jerseys for the world to see. The reaction was mostly favorable throughout Reds Country.

City Connect has been an initiative by Nike to provide an alternate uniform for teams throughout Major League Baseball with special attention focused on representing the city where the teams originate.

The Reds are one of six teams to debut their City Connect uniforms this season. So far, the Atlanta Braves, Texas Rangers, and Seattle Mariners have showcased their new threads.

Reds reveal City Connect jerseys with modernized wishbone 'C'.

After they debut in their new unis next weekend against the New York Yankees, the Cincinnati Reds will be the 18th franchise to don their City Connect jerseys. The Baltimore Orioles and Pittsburgh Pirates will be on deck with both slated to debut their City Connect jerseys during the 2023 season as well.

The Reds City Connect jerseys are virtually all-black with the word "Cincy" written across the chest with what looks like a neon and red-colored outline. There's also red piping along the sleeves.

The hat is all-black with red trim separating the visor from the crown. The button atop the cap dots the lid with an accent of red as well.

The most notable difference is obviously the absence, or shall we call it, modification of the classic wishbone "C". This may, or may not, sit well with the Reds fanbase, which is one steeped in tradition.

The Cincinnati Reds will debut their City Connect jerseys next Friday when the New York Yankees visit Great American Ball Park. The team will then wear the alternate uniforms for each Friday home game throughout the remainder of the 2023 season.

Opinions are bound to be split, but overall the reaction to the new duds has been positive. Hey, it could have been a lot worse. Have you seen the San Diego Padres City Connect uniforms? Gross!
