Welcome to the big leagues, Rece Hinds! On Monday afternoon, the Cincinnati Reds promoted one of their top outfield prospects to the active roster. Hinds, who was added to the 40-man roster during the offseason, will make his major league debut Monday night at Great American Ball Park.

Hinds was the Reds' second-round draft pick in 2019 and has been working his way up through the Cincinnati farm system for the past several seasons. Hinds is well-regarded for his tremendous power and will certainly add some pop to the Reds' lineup.

In order to clear a roster spot for Hinds, outfielder Stuart Fairchild was placed on the 10-day injured list with a spine disc injury. Fairchild was held out of Sunday's game due to the ailment and won't return until at least after the All-Star break.

Hinds will be thrust into the fire right away — batting eighth and playing right field in the Reds' series opener against the Colorado Rockies. Hinds was originally drafted as a third baseman, but has spent the past few seasons roaming the outfield in the minor leagues.

Hinds' promotion was not the only move the Reds made on Monday. The club also recalled reliever Yoser Zulueta. The right-hander made his debut earlier this season, going three innings and striking out four batters during his first major league game.

Unfortunately for Graham Ashcraft, he has not shown the Reds' coaching staff enough to warrant inclusion in the starting rotation moving forward. The right-hander was optioned back to Triple-A on Monday and will likely be replaced by Nick Lodolo who's scheduled to return on Tuesday.

It's a big day for Hinds, and for the Reds, as they look to put that bitter three-game sweep at the hands of the Detroit Tigers in the rearview mirror. If you're going to the game tonight, you may want to find a seat in the left field bleachers — the upper deck, that is.
