After seeing their favorite team sign Jeimer Candelario to a three-year contract this past week, Reds fans were left with more questions than answers. After all, didn't the Cincinnati Reds have more than enough infielders on the roster prior to Candelario's signing?

Immediately, Reds Country began to speculate that a possible trade was on the horizon. And while that's very possible, there are at least three players on the current roster that would appear to be untouchable in the eyes of the Reds' front office.

According to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal (subscription required), club officials view Elly De La Cruz, Matt McLain, and Noelvi Marte as long-term fixtures moving forward.

Reds infielders Elly De La Cruz, Matt McLain, Noelvi Marte unlikely to be traded

While it's no surprise that Elly De La Cruz and Matt McLain are considered to be indispensable, there was plenty of fear among the Cincinnati Reds fanbase that perhaps Noelvi Marte could be traded after the club agreed to terms with Jeimer Candelario.

After all, Candelario is a corner infielder and provides the ability to hit from both sides of the plate. But don't worry, Reds fans, Marte isn't going anywhere.

The same cannot be said, however, for both Jonathan India and Christian Encarnacion-Strand. While Ken Rosenthal revealed that the Reds like their infield depth, it would not be surprising to see Cincinnati include one of those players in a trade that would upgrade the club's starting rotation.

So while Reds fans can breathe easy knowing that Elly De La Cruz, Noelvi Marte, and Matt McLain aren't going anywhere, there's sure to be a bit of anxiety after hearing that Jonathan India and Christian Encarnacion-Strand could be moved.

But after losing Joey Votto, Nick Senzel, Kevin Newman, and Curt Casali, there are plenty of at-bats available for every player currently on the Cincinnati Reds roster. It'll be up to manager David Bell to balance out his starting lineup on a daily basis.
