Reds Trade for Aaron Miles
The Reds acquired infielder Aaron Miles and a player to be named later from the Athletics on Monday in exchange for outfielder Willy Taveras and infielder Adam Rosales. Miles, 33, batted .185 in 74 games with the Cubs in 2009 before being traded to the A’s. Over his seven big league seasons with the White Sox, Rockies, Cardinals and Cubs, Miles is a .282 career hitter with a .322 on-base percentage. Scott Rolen Out Again
Scott Rolen has missed the last two games with concussion-like symptoms. He was hit in the head with a Jason Marquis pitch last Sunday. Adam Rosales has started in his stead. Good news, Adam just hit a 2-run homer in San Fran.
Rolen to the Reds
Scott Rolen, pending he waives his no trade clause, has been traded to the Cincinnati Reds for Edwin Encarnacion. The full deal hasn’t been released yet due to Rolen’s clause. He should be a big help on the defensive side of the ball. But. why trade for a 35 year old 3b now? Put Adam Rosales over for the rest of the year and see what he can do. Good luck EE and good riddance!
He’s back!
Reds recalled infielder Adam Rosales from Triple-A Louisville. Rosales replaces the injured Jay Bruce on the roster, but doesn’t figure to see much playing time.
Adam to Louisville
Adam Rosales was optioned back to Louisville to make room for Homer Bailey. He has been slumping badly and found his playing time diminished in the last 3 weeks. Since Votto is back, there is no spot for Adam. He will be back though. His attitude is contagious. And, he is a big fan favorite here in Cincy. Go Reds, Tim
