The NL Central looks like the most competitive division in baseball. Four of the teams are separated by just 3.5 games, and the Brewers division-leading 52-41 record is the best record in the National League. It’s certainly possible that the NL Central will once again be sending three teams to the postseason. The first half of the Pirates schedule have placed them the farthest back of the four at 3.5 with a 48-44 record. They have a chance to gain some ground in the division, as they are the next team on the Reds schedule. The two teams are separated by just one game in the standings. Reds tickets are averaging $44.82 for the series for a 17 percent discount from the Reds season average.
7/11 PIT Jeff Locke vs. CIN Mat Latos | Avg. Price: $32 | Get-in Price: $3
Mat Latos has been stellar since he’s returned from the disabled list. In five starts he has an ERA of 2.41 while holding batters to a .175 average. The crazy part is he’s doing this despite a huge drop in both his ground ball and strikeout rate. But those numbers shouldn’t stay low for long, after all, five games is a small sample size. The game is the cheapest of the series with an average price of $32 and a get-in price of $3.
7/12 PIT Charlie Morton vs. CIN Mike Leake | Avg. Price: $34 | Get-in Price: $5
If you didn’t get your fireworks fix on July 4, you might want to attend this game. There will be postgame fireworks for fans in attendance, and the game only has a get-in price of $5. The $34 average price isn’t that high either. Mike Leake gets the start for the Reds, and in 18 starts he is second on the team with a 1.8 WAR. He’s also second on the team with a 3.96 K/BB ratio and a 3.41 ERA.
7/13 PIT Francisco Liriano vs. CIN Johnny Cueto | Avg. Price: $68.45 | Get-in Price: $18
A Billy Hamilton bobblehead will be given out to fans in attendance of the series finale. Hamilton has been stellar for the Reds this season while manning center field, but tweaked his hamstring the other night. No timetable has been set yet for the young star. Fans will also get the treat of watching Johnny Cueto on the mound. Cueto has easily been the Reds best pitchers this season, and has been one of the best pitchers in baseball. The average price of the game is the highest of $68.45 and the get-in price of $18.
