Starter Report: RHP Alfredo Simon vs RHP Zack Greinke

The Cincinnati Reds will look at game two of the series against the Los Angeles Dodgers to try and even things up as the send out RHP Alfredo Simon to the mound. The Dodgers will counter with one of their seemingly endless supply of talented starters with former Cy Young winner Zack Greinke.

Alfredo Simon continues to be perhaps the biggest surprise in baseball as his transition to starting couldn’t have possibly gone better. In his last two starts he has thrown 14.2 innings with just one earned run, two walks and 14 strikeouts. He works with his 95 MPH often and will mix in his secondary offerings well. His cutter is the most frequently used of the bunch and has been one of the better cutters in the game so far this season. His curveball has also been an above-average pitch for him.

The fastball and the change up have been above-average pitches this season, though the two breaking balls have been average to slightly-below average.
