Joey Votto has MRI; has a strained quad

It turns out that after the MRI, Joey Votto has a strained quad and no damage to the knee. There is no decision on whether or not he will head to the disabled list at this point in time.

Ken Rosenthall just tweeted this out and all of Redsland let out a sighed “who else is going to get injured next?”

Devin Mesoraco may be close to returning to the lineup, but this teams offense just went from bad to worse with this news. Even a slumping Joey Votto was better than anyone else on the team not named Todd Frazier this season. Let’s all hope it isn’t as bad as it sounds according to Rosenthal, but at this point, with all of the Reds injuries, this is about the last thing that they needed to happen.
