Johnny Cueto threw less sliders in his previous game for the first time all season, as he had increased the slider usage since his first start of the year. He still relied on it 13% of the time though. He threw more cutters than he did two or four-seam fastballs, though all were thrown 21-23% of the time in the game. His usage of the curveball remains very low, mixing in one or two per game. His velocity continues to rise as the season goes along and has picked up small amounts over the season so far.

Curveball 75 MPH 11%
Slider 80 MPH 21%

Chacin began the season on the disabled list and has made five starts, though four came in the minor leagues on rehab. In those five starts he has struggled with his control, walking 13 total batters in 23.0 innings. He works with a sinking fastball in the 87-90 MPH range, though he will mix in a 4-seamer with some cutting action to it that also works in the same velocity range. He mixes in a sweepy slider, change up and a curveball. The slider is his putaway pitch that is well above-average, while the rest of his offerings have been rather inconsistent throughout his career.
