Scouting Report

Pitch  Velocity  Usage
Fastball 91 MPH 51%
Change Up 84 MPH 12%
Cutter 90 MPH 13%
Slider 82 MPH 12%
Curveball 80 MPH 13%

In his last start Leake went off the book against Atlanta as he threw a season high 21% cutters and a season low 1% cuveball (previous low was 12%). He also added in a season high slider rate of 24% (previous season high was 15%). Perhaps that was a product of something about the Braves lineup, or maybe the Reds catchers chose to mix things up with the pitches Leake was using because of something he had been doing in previous starts.

Brewers Starter: RHP Wily Peralta

Scouting Report

Pitch Velocity Usage
Fastball 96 MPH 69%
Change Up 85 MPH 2%
Slider 86 MPH 30%

Wily Peralta brings the heat, averaging 96 MPH on his fastball this season. He works almost exclusively from a fastball/slider combo and didn’t throw a change up at all in his most recent outing on the 27th of April and had thrown a season high of just 4% change ups, coming in the first start of the year for him. Despite his fastball being quite fast, it has been a below average pitch for him. The slider has been a strong pitch for him though as an above-average pitch in all three seasons.
