Curveball 80 MPH 9%

Homer Bailey finally put together a good start in his last outing. Following the trend he threw his curveball less in the previous outing than the one before it and threw his slider more than he had the game before it. He still struggled at times with his control, but he did hit his spots more than he had the time before. He threw his fastball the second lowest rate during the season. The key for Bailey is to throw his fastball where the catcher wants it and keep it out of the middle of the zone.

Slider 84 MPH 34%

Ervin Santana has been flat out incredible this season. He has a 0.86 ERA in 21.0 innings while walking just four batters and striking out 24. His control has been very strong this season after being just solid in the past seasons. He is also keeping the ball in the ballpark this year after leading baseball in home runs allowed in 2012 and giving up 26 more in the 2013 season. His fastball is mostly an average pitch. The change up has been inconsistent throughout his career, but has been an above-average pitch so far in 2014. His slider has been his best pitch throughout his career and continues that way so far this season.
