Scouting Report

Pitch Velocity Usage
Fastball 92 MPH 73%
Change Up 86 MPH 12%
Slider 80 MPH 15%
Curveball N/A 0%

After three starts it seems that the curveball is no longer a part of the repertoire of Tony Cingrani, so unless he throws one in this start, I will stop listing it. After only throwing the fastball 65% of the time in St. Louis, Cingrani threw it 75% of the time in his last start. He mixed in the slider and change up at 12% and 13% each. His walk rate has been up this season, but he has countered it by continuing to be an elite level strikeout pitcher.

Cubs Starter: RHP Edwin Jackson

Scouting Report

Pitch Velocity Usage
Fastball 94 MPH 61%
Cutter 92 MPH 6%
Curveball 79 MPH 7%
Slider 86 MPH 24%
Change Up 88 MPH 2%

Jackson relies on his fastball and slider combination for 85% of his pitches. The fastball, despite good velocity, has been a below-average pitch. His slider on the other hand, has been an above-average pitch in the past, though so far this season he has had struggles with it. The curveball and change up also have rated out as below-average pitches. This season Jackson has struggled with his control.
