Breaking news: Aroldis Chapman hit in the face with line drive

Mark Sheldon just tweeted out that Chapman has fractures above his left eye and nose.

C. Trent Rosecrans tweeted out that Chapman had a laceration and contusion above his eye, but that he never lost consciousness.

C. Trent Rosecrans just reported on twitter, along with other media, that Aroldis Chapman was just hit in the face with a line drive off of the bat of Salvador Perez of the Royals.

Mark Sheldon just followed that up with a tweet that they are bringing a stretcher onto the field for Chapman.

Chapman was taken off of the field on a cart and then he was put in an ambulance and taken to a local hospital. The game is being called and is now a final.

Let’s all hope for the best for Chapman after this incident.
