Game 1 – Friday, September 27 @ 7:10 PM (TV: FSO; Radio: WLW)

Pirates – A.J. Burnett
2013: 9-11, 3.39 ERA, 1.235 WHIP
v CIN: 6-6, 3.93 ERA, 1.340 WHIP
@ GABP: 2-2, 3.20 ERA, 1.342 WHIP
last 7: 4-3, 4.06 ERA, 1.173 WHIP

Last time the Reds saw Burnett, he pitched himself a pretty good ballgame (7 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 12 SO). The Buccos won that game 4-2 and the only real blemish on Burnett’s line was that he allowed single runs in the first two innings.

Oh, and Burnett’s opponent in that game?

Frank Victores-USA TODAY Sports

Reds – Homer Bailey
2013: 11-11, 3.40 ERA, 1.113 WHIP
v PIT: 8-4, 2.69 ERA, 1.113 WHIP
@ GABP: 23-21, 4.71 ERA, 1.391 WHIP
last 7: 4-1, 2.06 ERA, 0.917 WHIP

So Bailey has a bit of a whammy over the Pirates. Just didn’t work out that way the last time. And let’s throw this into the mix. Go back 364 days. It was Bailey’s no-no against these Buccos. Cross your fingers that history repeats tonight.

You honestly don’t know the difference between “a chance” and actually calling your shot? Joe Strauss was right when he tweeted that STL schools lack accreditation.

Your insulting my education with your great closing paragraph? News flash, you only needed to win 2 of 3 of this series in order to have a home game, not all 3 as you claimed.
