Nothing like returning home to GABP after taking two of three from those blasted Pirates. Tied for the NL wild card and two back of the Cards even with six games remaining is better than some had hoped after dropping two of three in Milwaukee.

Now to take care of the Mets…

In the three games at Citi Field, the Reds swept the series. Johnny Cueto and Mike Leake earned wins (and both are going in this series) while Aroldis Chapman racked up a pair of saves. Cueto allowed three runs in the 3rd inning of that outing. A Marlon Byrd home run accounted for all three, and Byrd is no longer a Met.

Leake was masterful in going seven innings and allowing only three hits.

The best game of the series was the last. It featured the matchup of Mat Latos and Matt Harvey. Neither were at the top of their respective games on that day as both allowed four runs. The score was knotted at 4-all entering the top of the 9th. Cincy exploded for 3 runs off of Bobby Parnell.
