MLB Network on Bailey's No-hitter (VIDEO)

While there are those diverting our attention from what should be a banner day to be a Reds fan, and more specifically, to be one Homer Bailey, we’ll look at more from last night’s fantastic performance from Bailey.

A while ago, I received an email from the fine folks at the MLB Network, who had the game as the MLB Network Showcase last evening, and they were kind enough to enlighten me of a couple of interesting video clips from Bailey’s feat.

Not like there haven’t already been a few vids to hit the interwebs since out #27.

First, here’s the call of the final out by the duo of Matt Vasgersian and Sean Casey – who was doing the game and celebrating a birthday.

Think The Mayor got a birthday present he didn’t anticipate. And how about his exclamation of “Holy Moses!”

After the game, Homer chats with Sam Ryan.

Notable quotes from Homer during this Ryan interview:

“Every dog has his day twice, I guess.”

And Bailey on Dusty being in the dugout for his second no-hitter:

“For him to be here and see this one, it really makes me feel good.”

The mindset heading into the final two innings:

“Going into the eighth and ninth, I just kind of said, ‘Why the hell not? Here we go again.’”

Not the same as we heard on the FSO interview, but…

Congrats, Homer! Last night and today – up until first pitch tonight and maybe even longer – belong to you.

And nobody else.
