And we were doing so well.

In a couple early. In one late until a fall out from the ‘pen. In another, just never quite got the feel at the plate.

There is one guy to be watching. I’ll be doing a feature on him within the week.

Louisville Bats

Hard to score many runs when you’re limited to four hits and you have only three at-bats with runners in scoring position. Clay Hensley worked 1.2 innings of perfect relief. Yes, that was the bright spot for the Bats.

Next Game: 5/17 @ Charlotte, 7:15 PM ET. Getting the start for Louisville will be Armando Galarraga (2-1, 1.69).

Pensacola Blue Wahoos

For the third consecutive game, the Blue Wahoos and Lookouts go extras. This one didn’t end in the thrilling manner as the previous two. Of course, serving up 6 runs in the 10th would be a huge reason for that.

Manny Parra continued his rehab in Pensacola. We worked 2 innings allowing no runs on 2 hits and striking out 2. With all the talk about the Reds starting rotation when Johnny Cueto returns, there is this situation involving Parra to consider as well.

Next Game: 5/17 v. Mobile, 8:00 PM ET. Chad Rogers (2-2, 2.43) takes the hill.

The lead was good while it lasted. Steve Selsky, playing in his second game back in a Blaze uni, cracked a home run. Jake Johnson had hoped to continue his run of good outings, but was rocked for 6 runs in his 2.1 innings of work.

Dayton Dragons

Getting in that early 6-0 hole can be deflating, but the Firebreathers made an effort to come back in this one. Jesse Winker continues to be the offensive leader of the squad goin 2-for-4 with a home run (5) and 3 RBI (25). He also scored twice.

Next Game: 5/17 @ South Bend, 7:35 PM ET. Drew Cisco (2-3, 3.07) will look to bounce back after taking two straight losses.
