Reds reliever Sean Marshall continues his rehab stint in Louisville. He started the game last evening for the Bats. In his inning of work, Marshall hurled 18 pitches with 11 going for strikes. He allowed two hits and struck out two. Look for Marshall to work again this evening and possibly a decision made tomorrow.
On to the results from yesterday…
W: Poveda (2-0, 1.75) ; L: Corcino (0-4, 10.29) ; SV: Rasmus, C (3)
Emmanuel Burriss: 2-4
Daniel Corcino‘s early season struggles have now elevated into genuine concern. Corcino lasted only 2.1 innings in this game and threw 65 pitches. Thus far in 2013, opponents are batting .365 against him. Bats skipper Jim Riggleman stated Corcino is a high-energy and confident guy and they’re not seeing that.

To say this was an offensive display would be understating the facts. The air was right (dry and extremely windy) for the offensive output created by the Blaze and Mavericks. Unfortunately, not in favor of Bakersfield, but this is the kind of game some expect from the Cal League.

When you’re held to three hits, it’s kind of hard to score. And the manner in which the Dragons scored their run was, well, you read it…
Let’see here. Something’s amiss…
