Raising Reds: 4/10/13


A bit of a rough day in the minors for the Reds. None of the clubs could manage a win. Bakersfield (0-7) remains winless in the Cal League. Only one affiliate is over .500, Louisville at 4-3. Pensacola is at .500 with a 3-3 record. The Dragons had their game in South Bend postponed due to the weather (rain).

Wasn’t the best of days for the big club either as the Reds dropped a 10-0 decision (and that’s putting it lightly) on the scoreboard.

One bad inning got Galarraga. Didn’t help that the Bats were unable to provide any form of offense.

Prospect of the Day
Carlos Contreras pitched well enough to notch not only his first win, but the Blaze’s first win of the season. He scattered 5 hits over his 5.2 innings of work and did not issue a walk. Contreras also whiffed 8 Rawhide batters.
