What's Up in the NL Central: 4/3/13

Did we honestly have a day without baseball yesterday? I believe so. Was the longest day of 2013. These aren’t so long. Well, save one. Here’s today’s WUITNLC.

Chicago Cubs

So that April 1st deadline for discussions on a possible Wrigley Field makeover? By the boards, but the talks are on-going according to Cubbies Crib. Here’s a bit from Theo.

Cubs operation president Theo Epstein told reporters after the team’s Opening Day win over the Pirates that completing this renovation deal is, “fundamentally important to get us to the next level as an organization.”

No pressure, Chicago.

Milwaukee Brewers

On Opening Day, Brewers fans were enthralled that their Brew Crew came from behind to beat the Colorado Rockies. The win was of the come-from-behind nature against the worst 2012 bullpen. Well, last night, the Rox returned the favor.

Did I mention that the Brewers re-vamped their ‘pen after 2012? No? What’s the difference…

Pittsburgh Pirates

Rum Bunter’s Tom Smith loved attending Opening Day at PNC Park. But how does he feel about watching his beloved Pirates? Obviously not as much as attending Opening Day. He makes his numerous points for his feelings here.

St. Louis Cardinals

Looks like the Redbirds feasted on Heath Bell last night. A lot to feast on, might I add. Depending on who you ask, Bell might be tipping his pitches. Well, practically anyone you ask would have that response including ESPN’s Keith Law.

Off the Path

Matt Snyder of CBSSports.com has the latest MLB rankings out. He also has an overaction for all 30 teams and it’s an entertaining read. He has the Reds at #7.
