For those Reds fans that are unable to view Reds games on Fox Sports Ohio, I have good news provided you get MLB Network.
Through a press release from MLB Network, they have announced that the September 21st match-up between the Dodgers and the Reds from Great American Ball Park will be carried on the network. Game time is set for 7:10 PM. The game is subject to blackout rules and those within those area will be presented with the alternate game which is the Oakland A’s and the New York Yankees.
So…for those that had commented on BRM’s Facebook page about having tickets for that night and hoping that would be the night the Reds clinch the division, well, at the very least you have the opportunity to be on national TV.
MLB Network has a list of games between the dates of September 17-22 in which there are games featuring potential postseason match-ups and the Dodgers and Reds do offer that potential. The main games include Red Sox-Rays, Dodgers-Nationals, Rangers-Angels and White Sox-Angels. If you’re just a baseball fan, this week will be extremely enjoyable.
At this point, for the Reds and Dodgers to be postseason opponents, it would take the Dodgers winning the second wild card as they currently sit 7.5 games behind the San Francisco Giants in the NL West. Los Angeles begins tonight’s action 2 games behind the St. Louis Cardinals for that second wild card slot.
LA and St. Louis have three games left in their four-games series. Tomorrow night’s game will be on MLB Network.
