Reds Minor Affiliates Place Two on Forbes List

Big HT to BRM’s own Tyler Grote for this…

Forbes recently released its listing of the 20 most valuable minor league franchises. Reds affiliates have snagged a pair of spots and both are within the top 10.

The Louisville Bats are tied for 4th, along with The Frisco RoughRiders (Texas Rangers, Texas League, AA), the Columbus Clippers (Cleveland Indians, International League, AAA) and the Albuquerque Isotopes (Los Angeles Dodgers, Pacific Coast League, AAA).

Coming in 8th on the list is the Dayton Dragons. The Dragons are the only Single-A franchise on the list. That shouldn’t be a surprise considering the Dragons were recently up for an award for Best Sports Team by the Sports Business Daily/Journal.

The top spot goes to the Sacramento River Cats of the Pacific Coast League…and Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland A’s. That’s dripping in irony somehow…
