Dragon Tales: Dragons on Twitter

I enjoy listening to people chat on Twitter.  It covers the full range of human emotion, sometimes raw, occasionally informative, often frustrating, never are two days the same.  Lately a number of Dragons players have joined Twitter and I decided to figure out just who is plugged into the Twitter-verse.  I make no promises about any of these addresses and I may have missed one or two but to the best of my ability the following list is accurate.

One example of the humor Twitter occurred this week when Daniel Renken, who pitched most of the season before a September call up to the Bakersfield Blaze, commented on the BaseballAmerica.com list that proclaimed Renken had the best change-up in the Reds minor league organization.  Renken’s response was enlightening:  “Best change up in the Reds organization?  I don’t throw a change up…”  He can be found @DrunkenRenken

Here are those I could find on the current Dragons Roster:

Manager Delino DeShields – @DelinoSr

Pitchers

Catcher

Infielders

  • Billy Hamilton @b_ham_3
  • Donald Lutz @braunerhulk  Donald just made the 40 man roster today to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.
  • Ronald Torreyes @ronaldtorreyes No tweets from Ronald but as Billy Hamilton is following I will bite.

Outfielders

And finally the Dragons team Twitter account which apparently is not a focus of the Dragons media blitz as they last tweeted April 4, 2011.  @DaytonDragons

Follow me as we Tweet through the off-season with sights set on 2012 @JohnHeitz

Topics: Billy Hamilton, Blaine Howell, Dayton Dragons, Delino DeShields, Donald Lutz, Jaren Matthews, Patrick Doyle, Ronald Torreyes, Theo Bowe, Tucker Barnhart, Twitter

I’ll be sure to give you a follow, and I hope you follow me back as a fellow FanSided writer (Call to the Pen). I think I am already following DeShields, if not he is a must add.

I believe his son, a minor leaguer in Houston organization is @linodeshields.
